The Sussex Golf Academy
Junior Coaching Program is a structured set of targets
and goals for younger students to aim for.
Bronze Award
Pupils will need to demonstrate a basic understanding of
the
golf swing, which includes fundamentals, grip, aim,
stance and posture and have a basic knowledge of
etiquette and dress code.
Silver Award
Pupils will need to demonstrate a good understanding of
the
golf swing, which includes the six key positions of
the swing and be able to demonstrate these positions
when swinging the club.
The pupils will also need to show the changes made to
set up when chipping and pitching and explain why these
changes are made.
Pupils will also be required to have a competent
knowledge of the rules of the game.
Gold Award
Pupils will need to demonstrate an advanced
understanding of the
golf swing including short game,
bunker play, putting and course management.
Pupils will need to pass a playing ability test (P.A.T)
at Brooklands Golf Club. Score required is a gross 32 or
better and must be verified by a S.G.A Coach.
Pupils will also be required to pass a written rules and
etiquette test to achieve the S.G.A Gold Award.
